Chromatic fragmentation: colour that breaks apart and comes together again, until it shows itself as pure luminous energy.
Reading and extracting from the pages of life, where joys and sorrows mark the passing of time.
From the biography
Born in Battipaglia in 1954, Patrizio Landolfi has lived in Tuscany since 1980. After opening a gallery in Prato with friends, he turned to painting, revisiting abstract expressionism and pop art with a technique of his own: chromatic fragmentation.
Over half a century he has exhibited from Palazzo Vecchio in Florence to the Pall Mall Gallery in London, from Saint Petersburg to New York and Art Basel Miami.

55 worksFigurative ArtFaces, figures, horses and riders, angels and masks: the figure emerges from the fragments and from the material of the canvas.
11 worksFlowersFloral compositions and roses, where colour lights up in petals and corollas of fragments.
32 worksLandscapes – CitiesLandscapes, nocturnes, seascapes and water lilies, up to the views of Florence and skyscrapers: the place becomes a vibration of light and colour.
9 worksInnocenze violate – Violated InnocencesA collection of purely material works, presented in 2006 at Palazzo Panciatichi, seat of the Regional Council of Tuscany.
5 worksSpiritualSymbols, angels and meditation: the works in which the fragmentation of colour seeks, as the artist puts it, the energy at the centre of the composition.

If you look with a magnifying glass, you will see very interesting fragments and effects.
Patrizio Landolfi, Islander News, 2019
The artist works in layers that finally manifest themselves as mosaics made through a particularly wide palette. The fragments are often crossed by channels that enrich the works with a three-dimensional aspect.
