The “MAG” Mediolanum art gallery today opens the doors to the personal exhibition. On the occasion of the visit of the Guggenheim members of Venice and New York, the director of the gallery Giorgio Gregorio Grasso, invited me for the occasion to exhibit my works that have been viewed by the members of the Guggenheim.
Under the expert guidance of Prof. Grasso, people participating in the inauguration, were guided to the understanding of the pictorial contents and of the “Fragmentation” which is my personal technique to realize the works.
I also had the pleasure of William Tode visiting my personal, which was former director of the Uffizi of Florence in the 60s / 70s, an artist himself, he is the one who restored the altarpiece of the “Madonna del Parto” by PIERO DELLA FRANCESCA.
His appreciation was a further confirmation of the validity of my works. He wanted to write and read an essay publicly, which I report, where he expresses his admiration.
Dearest Patrizio,
I was able to admire your splendid works live, after having known them in your monograph that you dedicated to me.
I would like to say that saying that you are an artist of refined sensitivity is something taken for granted, I want to point out instead that you have some works of the highest lineage, which I have commented on, especially the one that reminds me of the Assyrian culture, for the figurative archetype of the typically outlined image in profile, Egyptian memory and Mycenaean Minoan.
Your paintings exalt matter, consumed by time, the usury of memory is that magical “three”, with its calcined whiteness, a message of universal eternity, common to all cultures.
Other moments of poetic late romanticism that brings me back to certain poignant atmospheres of a Robert Delaunnay, with its supreme hedonistic harmonies and saturated with abandonments.
Thank you, Patrizio, for the emotions you have given me and try to live coherently everyday your poetic “Abstract”, an ancient memory, always towards to the infinite.
Your William Tode
