Personal Exhibition in Florence at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in the “Galleria delle Carrozze” 19 May 2015
The exhibition contains a period of 10 artistic years ranging from “Violate Innocence” Unfortunately still a current theme, to the Fragmentations. Unlike paper printed through a work of art there is a direct impact with the drama of the moment. The printed paper is thrown away, but the work remaining becomes historical testimony.
The exhibition was of an important level, inaugurated with the participation of a dear friend “Nair”, an internationally renowned singer who dedicated to the event pieces from her repertoire, voice and piano. Giorgio Gregorio Grasso teacher, critic and art historian should have presented, but prevented, I had the pleasure of the presence of the president of the regional council of Tuscany, Dr. Eugenio Giani, who did the presentation instead. And starting from the Medici family he arrived at contemporary art with great artistic skills. The exhibition was curated by Caterina Pacenti.
I had among the many visitors also the mayor of Florence “Dario Nardella” who kindly wrote a dedication.
ARTICLE ON MET FLORENCE:
By Caterina Pacenti
This exhibition is the anthology of a decade of work and thought that led Patrizio Landolfi from the Violate Innocences to the Fragmentations; from Palazzo Panciatichi to Palazzo Medici Riccardi. The will is to illustrate an artistic and personal journey that in a significant way starts with a work called Humility, from which the series of canvases on Violate Innocence that describe themselves develops in a philosophical and conceptual way. How the presumption and arrogance are the cause of all violence and atrocities that the adult world is able to produce, upsetting that of children, silent and innocent victims who torn from their game size, wonder and carefree, are exploited and catapulted into horror and tragedy. To temper those images so true and direct and to give a message of peace, hope and love, the Angels to follow. The reflection and experimentation, the research and the evolution of languages and techniques, led Patrizio and lead us along the exhibition path to the last fragmentations that perhaps are nothing but the unconscious but instinctive choice of an ideal world – alternative to that of the disconcerting reality that the Violate Innocence shows us – made of joy, beauty and harmony, able to contain in itself everything and every difference like all the nuances of the same palette. These works are the result, as Patrizio himself recounts, “of an interactive process between the artist and his creation that makes work alive and exciting, in which the canvas is no longer passive, but active and gives answers that must be known to grasp and then make the identity appear ” and while the word fragment suggests to us something partial, in the process of destruction, which bears the signs of the inexorable passage of time, the fragment instead becomes here a vital element; the life that swarms behind the image that is revealing and concealing the observer’s gaze, offering him extreme freedom of reading and interpretation. This is how, admiring works like Archaic Vision, The colors of the dark, Oneiric spaces, we are overwhelmed by the energy and the force that they are able to release; an ode to joy that resounds in the Carriage Gallery and as life is a journey of emotions, thoughts and conflicting feelings, art is a process of growth and development that has never arrived; never finds in the language of yesterday absolute correspondence with that of today and tomorrow. Therefore art, like man, needs evolution and experimentation and this emerges from the exhibition of Patrizio who, courageously, chooses, based on the sharing of this philosophy and the reflection on the relationship between art and life, to illustrate, without censorship , the last decade of a career and an art that will never cease to evolve.
