Catalogs

The art catalogue Color Fragmentation, published in February 2024, arises from a collaboration between the contemporary artist Patrizio Landolfi and the “Special Initiatives” division of the publishing house Giunti Editore.  The “Special Initiatives” division specializes in the realization of editorial projects with promotional and informative purposes. Throughout his half-century long career, Patrizio Landolfi has been featured in important exhibitions and exclusive settings.  He is considered a highly refined creator, with a style rooted in an intense colorism that is matched with a technique of execution that originates from intricate alchemies.  Over the years, he has transitioned from a re-elaboration of abstract expressionism to a revisitation—with his own touch—of pop art: The common element running throughout both these periods is his adept utilization of color.  Given the alternating of chiaroscuro with tones and halftones, which produces a magnificent exaltation of color in all its forms, one may surmise that a highly balanced chromatic harmony emerges in his works.

Color Fragmentation is a fascinating book.  With its text appearing in English, Italian, and Arabic, it has been conceived for an international audience.  The book contains two sections, Visual Pop and Abstract Expressionism, both of which are united by an astonishing visual impact.

“Antologica ” contains a decade of work ranging from “Innocenze violate ” to Fragmentazioni. The “Innocenze violate ” is a collection of purely material works, presented in Palazzo Panciatichi, seat of the regional council of Tuscany, in 2006 . The treated topic highlights the infamy and violence perpetrated towards the infant world. They are cruel works that well describe in a direct way how the world of infants is violated and abused, in this case with the use of children in wars. It is a denunciation of all forms of abuse; those for pedophilia purposes, exploitation at work, and even more infamous for war purposes. A child suffers violence and an adult generates it, but also the adult has been child!
